Super Bad vs. Evil

Get Out the Vote!

Today is a big day here in Virginia and a lot is at stake. It can be hard to follow everything that is going on and to make a sound decision.

I made this list to help out – so you know who the incumbents are and if they have voted specifically to take away personal liberties.

Make sure you get out and vote today June 12th and you stay informed! Below is a list of the candidates and my picks.

The Races

Senate

My original pick for the senate vote was E.W. Jackson, the Republican Tea Party activist, my favorite part about him is that he wants to end the racial division and fight for an American History Month. It may sound silly to you – but ending racism in America is a key issue for me. Unfortunately he is not as great on other issues such as human rights. So I will be supporting Jamie Radtke. You can view a list of the other candidates here.

Virginia Candidates for Congress

District 1:

Adam Cook (D) My Pick, he is also for transit like Parker, but seems to have more ideas than just the transit.

Rob Wittman (R) The Incumbent

Gail Parker (Ind. Green)

District 2:

Paul Hirschbiel (D)

Scott Rigell (R) The Incumbent, voted against CISPA, but voted for the NDAA and was against removing the clause for indefinite detention – for me the choice is obvious.

District 3:

Bobby Scott (D) The Incumbent, voted against CISPA, for the NDAA and then for the Smith-Amash Amendment to remove the indefinite detention clause from the bill. If you like him – there is no reason he shouldn’t stay.

Dean Longo (R)

District 4:

Joe Elliott (D)

Ella Ward (D)

Randy Forbes (R) The Incumbent – voted for CISPA, the NDAA and then against the Smith Amash amendment.

No democrat has a chance in this district, so we must join together to remove Forbes and vote for Bonnie Girard (R)

District 5:

John Douglass (D)

Robert Hurt (R) The Incumbent, who is right there with Forbes. I don’t know much about Douglass, but I do know that voting to take away basic freedoms is basically not cool.

District 6:

Andy Schmookler (D)

Bob Goodlatte (R) The Incumbent – and the same goes for this guy – who has no problem sacrificing liberty for “safety” Offhand I would say go for he libertarian candidate as that will be most helpful for Ron Paul, but in the sixth district you do in fact have somewhat of a choice.

Karen Kwiatkowski (R/Libertarian)

District 7:

David Hunsicker (D)

E. Wayne Powell (D)

Eric Cantor (R) The Incumbent – who desperately needs to be fired. Floyd Bane is the Liberty-minded and supported candidate.

Floyd Bane (R) <~~~ This guy – that’s who you want. He was endorsed by my liberty minded friend Nathan Cox.

Vivek Jain, MD - the Occupy Candidate ( I just recently was made aware of him)

District 8:

Jim Moran (D) The Incumbent. Voted for CISPA, the NDAA – but voted to remove indefinite detention.

Bruce Shuttleworth (D) - I have to say though I really dig this guy. He is willing to fight for the people, not the corporations.

Patrick Murray (R)

Jason Howell (Independent)

Janet Murphy (Ind. Greens)

District 9:

Anthony Flaccavento (D) – I like him, but unfortunately I don’t really have anything to compare him to.

Jeremiah Heaton (D) – this guy doesn’t even have a website. That makes me question his ability to work in congress.

Morgan Griffith (R) The Incumbent – voted for NDAA and CISPA, but to remove indefinite detention. Being as there are no other Republicans – it is really a choice between the two democrats for November.

District 10:

Kristin Cabral (D) Her website was the only one available, therefore I cannot really do a fair assessment of the candidates, but from what I saw I do like her and it is by far time to get rid of the incumbents like Wolf.

Frank Wolf (R) The Incumbent – and in the stack with the rest of the bad guys who voted to take away your freedoms. I’m not sure if we can get him off the ballot now, but

Shaun Broy (Independent)

Kevin Chisholm (Ind. Green)

District 11:

Gerry Connolly (D) The Incumbent – at least he voted for the Smith Amash amendment, but I’m pretty sure that he doesn’t actually care about your freedoms.

Chris Perkins (R)

Ken Vaughn (R)

Peter Marchetti (Ind. Green) In the end I think I really like this guy – his stance on transit being the wave of the future would create jobs for Virginians and help protect the environment. And you know that whole transit, friendly, walk able city talk is my thing. I only did spend 2 years on it.

Joe Galdo (Green)

Thanks for stopping by the Middle Brick Road, I hope you enjoyed this post. If you liked this one you should check out Fire Congress. My name is Kacey and I am really big on health and all things natural – freedom – politics and bringing change by abandoning the boxes we too often put ourselves in.

  1. In the 4th, the winner of the Democratic primary Ella Ward, has a real shot. Forbes only legislation was that “the nation reaffirmed that In God We Trust is our national motto”. Nothing about jobs, the economy, just what the Republican administration wanted.
